Bio

Jessica Wong is more than a model, entrepreneur, and artist, she is a storyteller of the soul and a proud Jamaican American woman devoted to inspiring others to live boldly and love themselves unapologetically.

Born on Shaw Air Force Base in Sumter, South Carolina, and raised in Miami, Florida, Jessica is a first-generation Jamaican. As the only member of her family born in the United States, she grew up with a deep longing to connect with her Jamaican roots; a yearning that has shaped her identity and fueled her creative journey. For Jessica, Jamaica is more than a birthplace of heritage: it is a heartbeat, a source of pride, and a place she dreams of one day calling home.

A committed academic, Jessica graduated in the top 15% of her class and earned multiple scholarships to Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida. There, she earned a Bachelors of Arts in English with a Minor in Psychology – an ideal foundation for someone whose work revolves around emotional truth, language, and human connection.

In 2017, Jessica stepped into the national spotlight when she competed in the Miss Jamaica Universe pageant in Kingston, Jamaica. While she placed in the Top 10, it was her warmth and authenticity that captured the nation, earning her the title of The Gleaner’s Most Popular Contestant. As the curviest woman in the competition, Jessica shattered outdated beauty standards, showing the world that beauty has no single shape, shade, or size.

The following year, heartbroken yet motivated, Jessica transformed that moment into purpose. In 2018, she launched XhaleSwim, a bold, handmade swimwear collection created to help women embrace themselves unapologetically. Offering a mix of elegant, daring designs including styles inspired by Jamaican and Rastafari colors, XhaleSwim celebrates individuality and cultural pride. XhaleSwim has grown to over 52,000 loyal followers on Instagram and has been featured in Essence, Harper’s Bazaar, Elite Daily, Cosmopolitan, and was named Best Swimwear of 2020 by Miami New Times.

Jessica’s modeling career also flourished. She was selected as the solo model for the J. Wray & Nephew Ltd. calendar and later caught the attention of Khloé Kardashian’s Good American brand, joining their Good Squad as one of only a few ambassadors chosen nationwide. She has also appeared in music videos for global stars including Nicki Minaj, Mavado, Kabaka Pyramid, Alkaline, Lil Uzi Vert, and Future; effortlessly merging beauty, cultural pride, and performance artistry.

Yet, even as her spotlight grew, Jessica felt a deeper calling, one that pulled her inward.

As @jessleewong on social media, she chose vulnerability as her platform. On TikTok Instagram, she speaks candidly about self-growth, trauma healing, dating, beauty, and the highs and lows of womanhood. With over 600,000 followers across platforms, Jessica has become a trusted voice of perseverance, self-love, and radical honesty in the digital space.

In 2025, Jessica embraced yet another lifelong dream: visual art. She launched her first acrylic collection featuring original works, prints, and mixed media pieces on jessleewong.com. Her art is vivid, emotionally raw, and deeply reflective of Black identity and beauty. Recent pieces include a tribute to Malcolm X, modern urban takes on African tribal adornments, florals growing from the crown of a Black woman, and a touching portrayal of romantic love through a symbolic forehead kiss. Some of her goals include exhibiting at Art Basel, teaching paint classes, dropping merch, displaying her art, publishing books, speaking publicly on self-worth and creativity, creating philanthropic programs for underserved communities, and continue using her voice – and art to uplift others.

Through every chapter, whether on a pageant stage, in a swimsuit, behind a canvas, or speaking her truth online Jessica Wong is a living testament to resilience, betting on yourself and following all of your God – given gifts without limitation.
